Obviously I knew it wouldn't be heirloom furniture, but it's made of particle-style board and the stool is not made for anyone very heavy. (I weigh 140 lbs and would not feel comfortable sitting on it.) It has a nice finish, but when assembled, it doesn't look like it's worth more than forty or fifty bucks, in my opinion. And it took my husband a good hour to assemble it. He actually had to add his own wood glue to make it sturdier and had to repair the drawer, because it had come apart in the box. These are things you really don't realize until you have invested the time to assemble the vanity set. We're not going to send it back, but would not buy it again either. This really reminds me of a piece of fashion doll furniture, like you would find in a dollhouse. Unfortunately, it's of similar quality.
